Year End

I love fog. A dense fog simplifies the world and makes everything quiet; much like snow, only you don't have to shovel it and it doesn't have to be cold to have a good fog.

On the last day of 2007 two of my dearest friends and I met to celebrate our successes for the year. Some events were deemed a success simply because we survived them; others represented real progress toward challenging life goals. The best thing about doing this with trusted friends is that they know your history and can see progress more objectively than you can. They cut through the distractions and simplify.

Like a good fog.
